Ferm Living has become a well-known name among families who love Scandinavian design, soft colors, and interior decor with personality. This Danish design brand creates furniture, home accessories, textiles, lighting, and products for children among others—all with a distinctive design language that makes the interior modern and aesthetic.
At Lirum Larum Leg, Ferm Living naturally fits into our universe. Here, imaginative designs for children meet products that also appeal to adults. Ferm Living products can therefore help create a children's room that invites play and serves as a harmonious part of the rest of the home.
Especially Ferm Living children's furniture, storage solutions, and Ferm Living lamps are popular categories, but the brand's children's universe also includes toys, furniture, textiles, rugs, and decorative accessories.
The History behind Ferm Living
The story of Ferm Living began in 2006 when Danish designer Trine Andersen founded the brand with a passion for authentic design and a desire to create homes with space for tranquility, personality, and life. In 2026, Ferm Living will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
From its Danish roots, Ferm Living has evolved into an international design brand based in Copenhagen. The Scandinavian foundation is still evident but now combines with inspiration, craftsmanship, and traditions from around the world.
Today, the brand's designs are carefully developed in Copenhagen, and Ferm Living has built an extensive universe within furniture, lighting, textiles, kitchen, outdoor, and toys products for young children.
Ferm Living designs are Nordic but rarely strict or cold. Instead, there are often soft shapes, tactile materials, nature inspiration, and small surprising details that give the products their unique character.
This becomes particularly evident in Ferm Living's universe for children. Here, a practical storage basket can take the shape of an apple or a pear, while a lamp can resemble a cloud or hot air balloon. Function is combined with imagination in this way.
The balance between practicality and playfulness is a key reason why Ferm Living fits so well in children's rooms.
What is Ferm Living Known For?
Ferm Living is primarily known for Scandinavian design with a personal and modern expression. The products are created for the home, combining function with materials, shapes, and colors that can add character to the interior.
In the children's collection, you'll find everything from very simple products to imaginative designs that almost become small figures in the decor.
Ferm Living is known for:
- Scandinavian design with organic shapes and calm colors
- Ferm Living storage with decorative and imaginative solutions
- Ferm Living lamps for cozy lighting in the children's room
- Furniture and interior that can be combined across the home
- Textiles, rugs, and accessories with a clear design statement
- Ferm Living toys where play and aesthetics meet
- Characteristic products like the braided Apple and Pear storage baskets
The brand's Apple Braided Storage, for example, is handcrafted in rattan and shaped like a large apple, while the corresponding Pear Braided Storage is shaped like a pear. Both designs combine storage with a playful detail in the children's room.
What Products Does Ferm Living Make?
Ferm Living is much more than home accessories for adults. The brand has a large Kids universe with products for both babies and older children.
Here you'll find Ferm Living products in:
In the children's room, storage is a great example of Ferm Living's design approach. Rather than viewing storage as something to hide away, baskets, wall storage, shelves, and cupboards become a visible part of the decor.
This makes it possible to create a cohesive theme in the children's room with products that meet practical needs while contributing to the room's ambiance.
Who is Ferm Living For?
Ferm Living appeals greatly to families who want their children's items to be visible in the home.
The design can be especially interesting for:
Families with Babies
Textiles, interior pieces, and decorative elements can help create a calm and cozy environment in the baby's room.
Young Children
Here, storage, furniture, and Ferm Living toys become intriguing. The recognizable shapes and imaginative designs allow for a more playful children's universe.
Older Children
Shelves, lamps, rugs, and storage can give the room personality while addressing practical needs that change with age.
Gift Buyers
A Ferm Living product can make a great gift for occasions like christenings, naming ceremonies, or birthdays—especially if you're looking for something both functional and decorative.
Design-Conscious Parents
Ferm Living is ideal for parents who love Scandinavian children's interiors and want consistency between the children's room and the rest of the home.
Why Ferm Living is a Popular Choice for Children's Rooms
A children's room needs to do a bit of everything. It should accommodate play and imagination but also offer space for books, stuffed animals, clothes, creativity, and quiet moments.
Here, Ferm Living's design for children's rooms has a special strength: Many of the products combine a clear function with a decorative expression.
A basket can serve as storage while resembling a large apple. A lamp can provide light while looking like a cloud. A shelf can organize favorite items while contributing to the room's decor.
This means you don’t need to fill the entire children's room with Ferm Living. A single distinctive product can act as a highlight, while multiple designs can be combined to create a more cohesive universe.
