Note: All RICE baskets are handmade from raffia, which naturally varies in color, and this variation carries through in the dyeing process. Sometimes the dyeing is light, while other times it's more intense. This means that no two baskets are exactly alike. The same applies to the shape, where there might be slight differences. We think it's part of the charm that you can see the product is handmade. If you order multiple baskets at once, we send those that are closest in hue and shape. About the material: Raffia fibers are an amazing natural material, sourced from palm leaves, and Rice's raffia comes from Madagascar. All raffia products are made with heart—they are produced in two villages in the mountains of Madagascar, where the production contributes to better and more resources for the local inhabitants. The production supports more than 300 families on the Red Island. Since raffia is a natural material and the baskets are handmade, each product may slightly vary in color, shape, and size. Colors will fade if the product is exposed to constant sunlight. Avoid water, as it can cause color bleeding.
