Junior Bedding – The Next Step in Your Child's Sleep Universe

The transition from a crib to a junior bed is a significant milestone, typically happening for most children around the ages of 2–3 years, when the crib bedding starts to feel too small. At this point, junior bedding becomes the natural next choice.

Junior bedding fits junior duvets in the size of 100 x 140 cm, which is the standard in Denmark and ideal for toddlers and younger children.

During this phase, imagination, familiarity, and comforting routines play a significant role at bedtime. Bedding with familiar patterns, calming colors, and soft materials can help create a sense of calm and make bedtime easier—even after a day full of new experiences.

Our selection of junior bedding is designed with a focus on comfort, durable quality, and aesthetics, ensuring that the bedding withstands daily use and feels enjoyable night after night—wash after wash.

Adult-sized bedding for children – perfect for when your child outgrows junior sizes

Many children move straight from a junior bed to a single bed, making adult-size bed linen the natural choice. The standard measurement is 140 x 200 cm, perfectly suited for growing children, tweens, and teenagers.

Here, you'll discover bed linen that blends a playful touch with a more refined, grown-up appearance. It's the perfect solution for children who want to express their individuality, while still enjoying that feeling of comfort and coziness.

With our collection, it’s easy to find stylish bed linen for children that fits beautifully with the rest of your home décor.

The Good Sleep – Small Rituals Make a Big Difference

A good night's sleep begins long before your head hits the pillow. Establishing a peaceful bedtime routine, using dim lighting, and choosing soft bedding for children can work wonders. When your child knows what to expect, their body finds it easier to relax.

A few simple sleep tips:

- Air out the bedroom before bedtime – fresh air can significantly improve sleep quality

- Use the same bedding consistently – familiarity fosters comfort and calm

- Avoid screens for the last half hour before bed

- Use a night light or comfort lamp with soft, warm lighting to provide reassurance without disturbing sleep

- If your child is very restless, gentle, playful motor exercises before bed can help their body calm down – such as stretching, small balance games, or slow movements on the floor

Many children find extra comfort with a sleep buddy – a teddy bear or comfort cloth that always accompanies them at bedtime. Often, it's the small, familiar details that offer the greatest comfort and pave the way for a restful night's sleep.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions About Children's Bedding

What makes good bedding for children?

High-quality bedding for children should be soft, breathable, hypoallergenic, and designed to provide a secure environment for sleep and rest.

When choosing bedding for children, it is essential to prioritize materials that feel comfortable against the skin and are also easy to clean. Cotton and organic cotton are popular choices because they are lightweight, breathable, and ideal for children's delicate skin.
What size baby bedding should I choose?

Baby bedding typically fits baby duvets measuring 70 x 100 cm. Always check the dimensions of your duvet to ensure a perfect fit.
What size is a junior duvet?

A standard junior duvet measures 100 x 140 cm, and all our junior bedding fits this size perfectly.
When is the right time to switch from a baby duvet to a junior duvet?

Most children transition from a baby duvet to a junior duvet when they are around 2–3 years old. This often happens when the child moves from a crib to a junior bed or when the baby duvet starts to feel too short. The transition also depends on how tall your baby is. A junior duvet typically measures 100 x 140 cm and offers the child more room to move, while still feeling cozy and manageable.
Can I use a junior duvet for a baby?

It is not recommended to use a junior duvet for infants. A junior duvet is larger and heavier than a baby duvet and may feel uncomfortable or unsuitable for the little ones. For infants, you should always choose a baby duvet of the correct size and pair it with appropriate baby bedding, specifically designed to meet infants' needs for safety, comfort, and temperature regulation.
When should you upgrade from a junior duvet to an adult-sized duvet?

Many children switch to bedding in size 140 x 200 cm, typically between ages 4 and 6, or when they move from a junior bed to a single bed. If your child is particularly tall, you may wish to make the switch earlier. There are no set rules for when this should happen. Just make sure a grown-up duvet doesn't become too heavy or cumbersome for your child to move and sleep comfortably in.
Is your bedding organic?

Yes, we only select organic bed linen for children in our collection. Many of our bed linens are also produced by Danish companies, ensuring that you can trust the quality of the organic cotton bedding, free from harmful chemicals.
Why choose organic bedding for children?

When we sleep, we breathe in close to textiles for many hours each night. Therefore, it's reassuring to know that your child's bedding is made without unnecessary chemicals and harmful substances. Organic bedding is typically produced without the use of chemicals that can irritate the skin and respiratory system.

This makes organic bedding for children a safe choice—especially for babies and children with sensitive skin or a tendency toward allergies. Additionally, organic cotton is renowned for its high breathability and natural softness, which contributes to a more comfortable sleeping environment throughout the night.
How do I wash children's bedding – and at what temperature?

Most children's bedding can be washed at 60 degrees, according to the manufacturer's instructions. Always check the care label on the product!

For baby and junior bedding, 60 degrees is often recommended as it effectively removes bacteria and dust mites without compromising quality.

To preserve the softness and colors of the bedding for as long as possible, we recommend:

- Using a mild, fragrance-free detergent

- Avoiding fabric softener, which can coat the fibers

- Air drying or tumble drying on low heat

Our bedding is designed for everyday use and can withstand repeated washing, allowing it to be used time and again without losing shape, color, or comfort.
How can I establish effective bedtime routines for my child?

Good sleep routines revolve around familiarity, calmness, and a secure environment. When your child knows what to expect, their body can relax more easily.

A consistent bedtime routine might look like this:

- Begin early by slowing down and reducing stimuli.

- Change into pajamas, brush teeth, and prepare the bed.

- Dim the lights and perhaps use a cozy night lamp with a warm glow.

- Read a book, sing a song, or talk quietly about the day that has passed.

- End with a consistent goodnight message—preferably with a teddy bear or comfort blanket.

Small, repetitive rituals create a sense of security and help your child find peace during the transition from day to night. Often, it's these simple routines, repeated each evening, that make the biggest difference for a good night's sleep.
