Note: All RICE baskets are handmade from Raffia, which naturally varies in color, and this variation is reflected in the dyeing process—sometimes the coloring is light, other times more intense. This means no two baskets are exactly the same. The same applies to the shape; there might be slight differences. We believe this adds to the charm, showing that the product is handmade. If you order multiple baskets at a time, we will send ones that are closest in shade and shape. Unfortunately, we can't provide photos of each variant.

About the material: Raffia fibers are a fantastic natural material, derived from palm leaves, and Rice's raffia comes from Madagascar. All raffia products are made with heart—produced in two villages in the mountains of Madagascar, where the production contributes to better and more resources for the inhabitants. The production supports over 300 families on the Red Island. Since raffia is a natural material and the baskets are handmade, each product will slightly vary in color, shape, and size. Colors will fade if the product is exposed to constant sunlight. Avoid water as it may cause color bleeding.
