The basket houses are woven by skilled artisans in Madagascar. As they're made from natural raffia, the colors will fade slightly over time, especially if placed in direct sunlight. Also, avoid contact with water, as the color may bleed. The basket houses are spacious and look great both in the child's room and the living room. Perfect for storing dolls, blocks, stuffed animals, costumes, and more.

All RICE baskets are handmade from raffia, which varies in color naturally, and this variation is also reflected in the dyeing process. Sometimes the dye is light, other times more intense. This means that no two baskets are exactly alike. The same goes for the shape, where there might be slight differences. We believe it's part of the charm that you can see the product is handmade. If you order multiple baskets at the same time, we will send baskets that are most similar in hue and shape. Unfortunately, we cannot show photos of the different variants.

About the material: Raffia fibers are a fantastic natural material, sourced from palm leaves, and Rice's raffia comes from Madagascar. All raffia products are made with heart—they are produced in two villages in the mountains of Madagascar, where the production contributes to better and more resources for the towns' inhabitants. The production supports more than 300 families on the Red Island. As raffia is a natural material and the baskets are handmade, each product will vary slightly in color, shape, and size. Colors will fade if exposed to constant sunlight. Avoid water, as it may cause color transfer.
