All RICE baskets are handmade from raffia, which naturally varies in color. This means that sometimes the dye may appear light, other times more intense. Therefore, no two baskets are exactly the same. The same goes for their shape, where slight differences may occur. We believe this is part of the charm, showcasing that the product is handmade. If you order multiple baskets at once, we will send those that are closest in shade and shape. Unfortunately, we cannot provide photos of the different variants.

About the material: Raffia fibers are a marvelous natural material, sourced from palm leaves, and Rice's raffia comes from Madagascar. All raffia products are made with heart—they are produced in two villages in Madagascar's mountains, where production contributes to better and more resources for the villagers. The production supports more than 300 families on the Red Island. Since raffia is a natural material and the baskets are handmade, each product may vary slightly in color, shape, and size. Colors will fade if the product is exposed to constant sunlight. Avoid water, as it can cause color bleeding.
