All RICE baskets are handmade from Raffia, a natural material with unique color variations. These color nuances carry through the dyeing process—sometimes the tones will be soft and light, other times more vivid—ensuring that each basket is truly one of a kind. Slight differences in shape are also to be expected, adding to the distinctive charm of handcrafted items. If you order several baskets, we do our best to select those closest in shade and form. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide photos of specific variants in advance.

About the material: Raffia fibers are a truly remarkable natural resource, derived from palm leaves. Rice obtains its raffia from Madagascar, where every piece is crafted with genuine care. Production takes place in two villages in the mountains of Madagascar, directly supporting improved living standards and resources for the local communities. In fact, this work sustains more than 300 families on the Red Island. Because each basket is handmade from natural raffia, every item will display small variations in color, shape, and size. Please note: colors may fade if exposed to continuous sunlight; keep out of water to avoid potential color transfer.
