Note: All RICE baskets are handmade from raffia, which naturally varies in color, and this variation carries through to the dyeing, sometimes resulting in lighter colors, other times more vibrant. This means that no two baskets are identical. The same goes for shape; there can also be slight differences. We believe this is part of the charm, as it shows the product is handmade. If you order multiple baskets at once, we will send those that are closest in color and shape. Unfortunately, we cannot show photos of the different variations.

About the material: Raffia fibers are a fantastic natural material; they come from palm leaves, and RICE's raffia originates from Madagascar. All raffia products are made with heart—they are produced in two villages in the highlands of Madagascar, where production contributes to better and more resources for the village residents. The production supports more than 300 families on the Red Island. Since raffia is a natural material and the baskets are handmade, each product will vary slightly in color, shape, and size. Colors will fade if exposed to constant sunlight. Avoid water, as it can cause color transfer.
